Online storybook

More good stuff from Carine…

Create a story together with the children. You can help them by giving them a main character and helping them with questions such as: “What did he do then, what happens next?” Meanwhile the teacher makes notes. Afterwards the teacher repeats the story and asks after each part who can make a drawing of that part.

In the next stage they bring their paintings together, put them in order, then talk about their pictures. Record the children talking. Then take photos of the paintings and put them in a presentation, together with the audio. The story can be uploaded so the children can look at the book online in the classroom but also at home with their parents
Hint
Use a programme like Audacity to make the recording –  or Garage Band if you are using a Mac.  If you have to prompt the children with questions in order to get the narrative right when they are talking about their pictures, you can always edit out your voice afterwards. If you don’t feel confident about editing, just switch the mic off when you are asking the questions and switch it back on when the children are talking. There will be a few clicks but the children won’t notice.

I don’t have a mic on the school so I use the mobile. But it took me ages to download it from the mobile to computer. And centuries to make a narration. No kidding. So I drop it and use the old photopeach app which is more comfortable to use it.
