There are loads of teaching resources already out there so before you re-invent the wheel check out these sites for ideas and resources, and please give back to the community by sharing your own experiences, tips, ideas and resources. has loads of fun ideas for using in the classroom. is a great source for shared lesson plans, presentations, games and activities.

ASE and the NSTA have lots of good resources.

For professional development you might like to join in with the weekly #ASEchat on Twitter. takes you to a group of maths teachers sharing ideas about using web2.0 in maths lots of links to online resources for maths teachers here.

The institute of Physics contains a treasure of ideas for teachers.

Have a look at Wellcome Trust, a great collection of biomedical resources.

On Yenka you can find the Yenka modeling software. This is produced by Crocodile Clips who offer free home licenses for all the Yenka tools on Mathematics, Science, technology, programming & computing.

Crocodile Clips is also owner of Absorb courseware. They have a collection of free resources that you can use on their website. The subjects are chemistry, electronics, mathematics, physics and advanced physics.

The maths teacher is a great website for students to use at home or you can use it in the classroom to differentiate. Video’s with good explanations, notes with the videos and exercises with solutions. What more do you want?
