How much water does the ocean contain?

Let the students search on Google Maps to discover if the Earth contains more ocean than land.

Explore the water cycle. Ask some questions like ‘Where do you think rain comes from?’, ‘Does it rain every where?’

After students have shared their ideas, they try to find some explanations. In Glogster they will make a poster to illustrate how the water cycle works. One of the criteria of the presentation is that the 3 stages of the cycle has to be shown: evaporation, condensation and precipitation.

Discuss what happens when it rains and snows. Not all the snow falls back into the ocean. What happens then?

Make the connections to the students’ location. Let them personalize their poster to their environment.
